Classical and Biblical Greek

This rigorous introductory course will prepare students to begin reading the New Testament in Greek as well as give them a solid basis for reading Classical authors with further study.  In the first two trimesters, students will study the fundamental grammar, morphology, and vocabulary of Classical Greek through reading, memorization, and translation.   In the third trimester, we will focus on extensive reading of the Gospel of Mark.  This course will require significant investment by the student to succeed; homework will be assigned for daily study.  No previous knowledge of Greek is required, though a good grasp of English grammar and/or previous study of an inflected language would be very beneficial.
