Art / Grades 9-12 / Period 7 / CF 7 / 1T – 2T – 3T
Scope and Sequence:
In this course students will learn about the quintessential art forms found in a variety of countries and regions from around the world. Students will create Argentinian art in the style of Fileteado, experiment with Norwegian Rosemauling, practice their hand at French Impressionism, create their own Amate Bark Paintings from Mexico, and more! With each country explored, we will also discuss the history of the art form, the location of each country of origin and discuss other samples of each type of art form. When possible we will link the art form with one of the preeminent artists associated with said form, covering both art history as well as art appreciation.
Grading: P/F Students must attend at least 80% of the class and demonstrate high level of participation to receive a passing grade
