Spanish / Grades 8-12 / Periods 3 and 4 / SD / 1T-2T-3T

This is a 3 trimester course, the first year of high school Spanish. Class consists of 2 periods, class and language lab, both are required. The first trimester focuses on cognate vocabulary, proper pronunciation, vocabulary of family, school, everyday activities, the present tense of verbs, and culture. Listening, reading, writing, and speaking the language will be practiced. Lab time will consist of review and conversation, while class time will be devoted to vocabulary, grammar and reading. Grades are based on completing homework, quizzes, orals and one written exam per trimester.

Prerequisite: Entering 8-12th grades or permission of instructor
